We went to the ultimate redneck grocery store the other day. We were out shopping for items for the bathrooms. As we were finishing our shopping Tammy said she needed to stop by the store to pick up a couple things for the stew she was making for dinner. We seen a grocery store by the mall and decided to stop in there. We had not seen or heard of the store before. Tammy, Megan, joe, and myself all went in. Once inside we noticed it was kind of like a can good warehouse or grocery outlet type of store. We started grabbing the couple of items that we needed and realized that they had very good prices on everything. Before you knew it we had quite a few items and was still looking at more. I told Tammy that I would go get a cart. when i went out to get a cart they were all chained together. I could not get any of them apart. I then thought I would just grab one from the lot. After looking around I noticed there were not any carts to grab. I went back inside and told the others about the locks and asked Joe to go and try to figure it out. After about five minutes he came back in with one. He tried to get them unhooked but could not. He asked a lady if she could show him. She did not understand english so she stuck a quarter in the little box and the chain came undone. You stick a quarter in to use the cart. When you return it and stick the chain from the other cart in it will release your quarter back to you. It's actually a smart idea! You pay the quarter to use the cart and get it back when you return it. If you don't, they make a quarter per cart to round them up. It actually is a good way to keep the carts rounded up and clear of the parking lot and they do not have any labor into it. We took our groceries to the check out. It was there we realized that you must pay for the bags to bag your own groceries. It is $.05 per bag for paper, $.25 per bag for plastic, and $1.75 for the reusable nylon bags. The cashiers all sit in chairs and scan your items and place them back in a cart. You must then take your cart to a platform area where you then pull your items out of the cart and bag them. We are not sure if it is really Redneck or good business sense. Their prices are probably so low because they have very little labor and small overhead. Next posting I will share our expierience with the local cable company. Have fun, take care. It's not goodbye, but see you later!

Paying for Grocery Carts is "Common" in Canada..."lol"
We have also paid .25 to use the bathroom at McDonald's while we were on vacation in Sweden ..all public bathrooms are coin-operated!
We have coin cart here at our Dollar Tree, heck Ron charged me a dollar the other day to back out the car out of the garage. LOL
Glad to hear you are all okay and enjoying your shopping expeditions. Can't wait for the next chapter of your continuing saga.
Your mother said she heard they were going to start charging for bags in a lot of the stores. We have been waiting for the next chapter about cable.
